Our History
Established in the Netherlands in 1995 and headquartered in Athens, Ohio in the United States, Global Cooling is an innovative technology company providing energy-efficient, high performance cooling products to the scientific, medical, and electronics fields.
We are focusing our green, patent protected cooling technologies on specialty applications. Global Cooling’s designs use helium (a natural refrigerant) and offer customers energy savings of more than 50% over conventional technology. Our products allow users to dramatically reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint without sacrificing performance, reliability, or convenience.
Global Cooling and their Japanese partner Twinbird offer a range of coolers and freezers utilizing their patent protected Stirling cooling technology around the world. Together the companies offer a full line of free-piston Stirling designed coolers and freezers for a wide array of applications. Global Cooling’s ULT freezers are the world’s first truly portable -80°C freezers. These portable freezers weigh less than a third and consume less than a quarter of the electricity of the nearest comparable product.
